Antonella Nota

Antonella Nota ha completato i suoi studi universitari in Astronomia all’Università di Padova nel 1983. Nel 1986 si trasferisce a Baltimora (USA) per lavorare allo Space Telescope Science Institute, l’istituto che gestisce il telescopio spaziale Hubble. Attualmente è il direttore associato per l’ESA a STScI. Hubble è una partnership tra la NASA e l’Agenzia spaziale europea e Antonella Nota è la Scientist dell’ESA Hubble Project. I suoi interessi scientifici sono nel campo dell’evoluzione stellare, stelle massicce, giovane formazione di cluster e di evoluzione. Ha pubblicato più di 200 articoli in riviste astronomiche e pubblicazioni scientifiche. Ha supervisionato un gran numero di studenti laureati e Post-docs ed è uno degli avvocati che combattono per la rappresentanza delle donne e delle minoranze nella scienza.

Antonella Nota completed her university studies in Astronomy at the University of Padua (Italy) in 1983. In 1986 she moved to Baltimore (USA) to work at Space Telescope Science Institute, the institute that operates the Hubble Space Telescope. Currently, she is the Associate Director for ESA at STScI. Hubble is a partnership between NASA and the European Space Agency, and Antonella Nota is the ESA Hubble Project Scientist. Her scientific interests are in the areas of stellar evolution, massive stars, young clusters formation and evolution. She has published more than 200 papers in astronomical journals and scientific publications. She has supervised a large number of Graduate students and Post-docs, and she is an advocate for representation of women and minorities in science.
