ETTORE GRECO
nasce a Padova nel 1969 e si è diplomato allʼAccademia di Belle Arti di Venezia nel 1992. Nel 1994 ha aperto un suo atelier e due anni più tardi ha tenuto la prima mostra personale. Dal marzo del 2011 un suo San Sebastiano è in permanenza al Vittoriale degli Italiani, la casa-museo di Gabriele dʼAnnunzio a Gardone Riviera e nel giugno dello stesso anno lo scultore veneto è presente alla 54. Biennale di Venezia. Collabora con l’Espace Pierre Cardin di Parigi, dove nell’autunno del 2013 si è tenuta una sua personale. Le sue sculture sono state esposte in molte città tra cui Milano, Torino, Firenze, Berlino, Parigi, New York. Dal 2009 collabora con la Galleria Maurizio Nobile per la quale ha realizzato numerose opere nel 2011 per la mostra Fior di Barba e nel 2012 per la mostra Fine o Rinascita?, 2012 - 2013. Lo scultore, pur non abbandonando i suoi riferimenti alla scultura di Rodin, si ispira a dipinti del Seicento, traducendo immagini e suggestioni pittoriche in bronzo, terracotta e gesso. Vive e lavora a Padova.
ETTORE GRECO born in Padua (Italy) in 1969 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Venice (Italy) in 1992. In 1994 he opened his own studio and two years later he held his first solo exhibition. Since March 2011, one of his San Sebastiano is permanently to Vittoriale, the house-museum of Gabriele D’Annunzio in Gardone Riviera (Italy) and in June Greco is present at the 54th Venice Biennale. Collaborates with the Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris (France), where in the fall of 2013 was held a solo exhibition, Ettore Greco. Issue de Secours.
He has been a part of exhibitions in Chicago, Paris, Luxemburg, London, and throughout Italy.
Since 2009 collaborates with the Gallery Maurizio Nobile for which he created numerous works in 2011 for the exhibition Fior di Barba and in 2012 for the exhibition Fine or Revival?, 2012 - 2013. Working primarily in bronzes, plasters, and terracottas; Greco likes to sculpt the human form to explore the body and its movements and the strongest human emotions, birth and death, but also the madness, in pieces that are very much contemporary as they are reminiscent of classic masterworks. He currently lives and works in Padua (Italy).
