ALBERTO SALVETTI
nasce a Vicenza nel 1974. Nel 1998 frequenta i corsi di Scultura e di Pittura all’Accademia Complutense di Madrid (Spagna) e diplomandosi scultore con lode all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia nel 2001. Nei frequenti viaggi a Buenos Aires ha conosciuto importanti maestri che hanno segnato la sua formazione artistica, tra i quali Nicolas Garcia Uriburu e Luis Benedit. Nei primi anni del 2000 ha collaborato con un’opera alla Biennale di Venezia a contatto con Carolyn Carlson in un Omaggio a Beuys, successivamente ha lavorato con le maestranze degli scultori cinesi di Cai Guo Qiang. Guardia forestale mancata, è da sempre legato al mondo della natura, la sua ricerca artistica intende indagare la storia e il medio-ambiente che lo ospita. Alcuni suoi lavori pubblici sono visibili nel Museo I Armata del Sacrario Militare del Pasubio, nel Museo Naturalistico di Montecchio Maggiore, all’AMCPS di Vicenza e in un paio di siti dell’ULSS 6 Vicenza. Nel 2005 è vincitore del bando Circoli d’arte: le rotatorie tra estetica e promozione del territorio in cui concepisce una rotatoria come autogrill per specie vegetali e animali autoctone.
In collaborazione col Distretto Ulss 6 Vicenza, per molti anni è stato il referente artistico del Progetto Artelabio, in cui ha aperto alla città i laboratori di teatro e di scultura per disabili psicofisici, facendoli diventare un momento d’integrazione sociale e gratuita per gli appassionati d’arte.
In questi ultimi anni lo si è visto proporre installazioni come Aironi Bianchi / White Heron (8 figure in pellicola per alimenti); Il fiume (in cui ha liberato esche vive nei cesti di rifiuti trasformati in acquari) o a Chiavenna, Larus Lurido, 17 gabbiani impetrolati realizzati con fogli di giornale riportanti notizie delle dispersioni petrolifere. Ma sono le performances che lo vedono sempre più coinvolto nel mondo degli animali che lui da sempre ama e che definisce come messaggeri di spiritualità altra. Tra le più degne di nota vogliamo ricordare Il sogno del giaciglio per Festa Ambiente di Vicenza del 2011 (in cui coperto di fango dalla mattina alla sera ha costruito in fango e fieno gli animali del Parco); Il Canto dell’angelo nel Bosco delle Cascate a Calvene (in cui come essere alato si è rinchiuso per 8 ore in una voliera per rapaci); Il Volto di una gabbia per La notte dei senza fissa dimora in Piazza delle Poste a Vicenza (in cui ha rinunciato pubblicamente alla sua immagine); Un altro sguardo con Carlo Presotto in Basilica Palladiana a Vicenza (in cui ha trasportato a passeggio per la città un capriolo di cemento del peso di 60 kg); Schiavo regolare offresi nell’antica Fiera popolare di Grisignano di Zocco e a LIBEREPERSONELIBERE a cura di Anna Caterina Bellati, a Venezia, nel giugno 2014 (in cui si è messo in vendita al pubblico con un contratto di schiavitù a termine); Ursus Arctos in cui passeggia in una periferia urbana con un orso bruno fatto di fogli di quotidiani per sensibilizzare il pubblico sul ritorno dei grandi carnivori selvatici nei territori abitati dall’uomo.
Attualmente vive e lavora a Debba (Vicenza).
ALBERTO SALVETTI born in 1974. In 1998 he attended the Sculpture and Painting classes at the Complutense Academy of Madrid (Spain) in 2001 he graduated with the best results from the Fine Arts Academy in Venice (Italy). During his frequent travels to Buenos Aires, he met numerous masters who influenced his artistic career such as Nicolas Garcia Uriburu and Luis Benedit. Durig the first years of 2000 he contributed with Carolyn Carlson first in Tribute to Beuys, and the Chinese sculptor masters of the Cai Guo Quiang School after, to a Biennale work in Venice.
As missed forester, Alberto Salvetti has always been linked to the
natural world; his artistic researches investigate the history and the
medium-environment that host him: some of his works are visible at the I Army Museum at the Pasubio
Military Memorial, at the Naturalistic Museum in Montecchio Maggiore (Italy), at the AMCPS
(municipal utilities and environment office) in Vicenza (Italy) and in other
few Vicenza Sanitary Sites. In 2005 he won the contest: Art societies: the roundabouts between esthetics and the
promotion of the territory, where he
conceives a roundabouts as a motorway restaurant for vegetable species and
autochthonous animals. In collaboration with the Sanitary District n. 6 of
Vicenza, for several years he was the artistic referent of the Artelabio Project, a project
opened to the town that offered theater and sculpture laboratories for
psychophysics disabled people thus offering free and social integration moments
for the art lovers. Over the past few
years he presented unique installation as Aironi

figures in plastic wrap); Il fiume /
The river (where he released alive lures into trash cans he transformed in
aquariums)
or Chiavenna (Italy) Larus Lurido, an installation with seagulls (17 gulls,
made of newspapers reporting news on oil spill, were covered with real oil). The
performances see him more and more involved with animals that he always loved
and considered as “messengers of another spirituality”. Among them worth
mentioning Il sogno del Giaciglio / Dreaming in a
pallet created for Festa
Ambiente in the town of Vicenza in 2011 (in this occasion, covered with
mud from the early morning up to the late evening, he built, with mud and hay,
the animals of a Park); Il canto
dell’Angelo / The Angel sing in the Bosco delle
Cascate (the Waterfall Wood) in Calvene (Italy). Where, as a winged
human being, he closed himself for 8 hours in a bird cage); Il volto di una gabbia / The face of a cage, created for The night of
the homeless in Piazza delle Poste in Vicenza (in this occasion he gave up
publicly on his own image); Un altro
sguardo / A different look with Carlo Presotto at the Basilica
Palladiana in Vicenza (where he took for a walk around town a 60 kilos deer
made of cement); Schiavo regolare offresi / A
steady slave for sale at the ancient local fair of Grisignano di
Zocco (Italy) and, in the past month of June, at the LIBEREPERSONELIBERE curated by
Anna Caterina Bellati in Venice (where he sold himself to the public with a
time slavery contract); Ursus Arctos where he
walked in a urban suburb with a brown bear, made of newspapers, with the aim to
aware of the return of the big wild carnivores in urban areas.
He currently lives and work in Debba (Italy).
